The Kimberley Spirit Football Academy (KSFA) is the Kimberley's leading football development squad for young and talented AFL footballers aged 14 - 18.
The program aims to deliver a comprehensive 9 month development program that educates regional players both on and off the field. Players will learn the importance of school education, nutrition, positive lifestyle choices, personal development and leadership skills, while developing their understanding of Elite Game Strategy.
The money raised through Go Fund Me will contribute to predominately Indigenous Kimberley players having the best opportunities to further their careers both on the football field or in the workplace throughout the KSFA program. The funds will expose these players to future opportunities not accessible in remote locations, such as state league games or potentially the AFL draft system. Throughout the 9 month program, players will be given an opportunity to attend football development camps that involve local games and a trip to experience a state league environment. The players will experience one week of living outside a remote setting and develop life skills to manage training, playing, work, study and their social- emotional wellbeing priorities.
The Kimberley Spirit Football Academy promotes opportunity for regional players to be exposed to success at their chosen level . While the program targets players in the remote Kimberley region, the KSFA also develops and educates local coaches and volunteers in remote settings. Kimberley Spirit is locally driven by the desire to bridge the gap of opportunity for remote community populations by making football in the Kimberley a winning formula.
