On April 28, 2023 Kimberly Alford was diagnosed with 2 different types of breast cancer: Metaplastic & Invasive Ductal Carcinoma. Metaplastic breast cancer accounts for less than 1% of all breast cancers.

Because metaplastic is such a rare breast cancer, there is not a lot of research behind it.
