Kimberly and Christine's critical car crash

On March 17,2024 my best friend of 15 years Kimberly Crawley and her mother Christine Melendez were rear ended by a drunk driver. Kimberly and Christine were ejected from the windshield and faced substantial injuries and lifelong emotional scarring. Kimberly’s injuries are those as follows. 4 broken bones, a broken Tibula-Fibula, Humerus , Elbow and her Radio Ulna. Numerous fractures, a fractured Shoulder, fractured Ribs and a C-L spinal fracture. finally, a shattered Wrist bone.

Christine was ejected 30 feet from the crash site whereas Kimberly unfortunately landed and was crushed by her vehicle. Had she not landed on the grass Kimberly would have lost her life. When a bystander found her he presumed she was dead and went to find her mother. Christine thankfully did not suffer from as many injuries as Kimberly. However she has a broken arm as well as scratching and bruising. Despite the initial shock of the crash and personal injuries all Christine could concern herself with was the safety of her daughter, something no parent should have to go through. although being 30 feet away Kimberly was able to crawl on one arm to her mother; thankfully not paralyzing herself and they were later taken to the hospital.

March 17,2024 was a typical night for Kimberly and Christine, they came home excited to watch “Greys Anatomy” a show Kimberly had recently introduced her mother to. However they needed a few items from the store, Christine did not originally intend to go to the store however when Kimberly forgot the card at home and came back Christine rode with her anyways. What should have been a typical night for Kimberly and Christine has changed their lives forever. We are not sure the severity of Kimberly's and Christine's injuries and how long they will be unable to work but we can assume it will be anywhere from 6 months to a year. We are asking for donations to help cover financial hardships as well as financial responsibilities during this time.
