Family and Friends:
We all have come to grasp that this year has definitely been a roller coaster ride. A ride that will hopefully slow down soon as we approach 2021. Things will start falling back into place once this global pandemic is no more. But, this is truly not the case for everybody.
Kimberly Idom, 47 years old, has been a bartender for 21 years in Houston, TX. Etro Nightclub in downtown Houston, TX was usually where you would find this “ginger” slinging the sauce. Like many in the industry, she was waiting for the go ahead to be able to start working again seeing as how bars were told to shut down on June 26th. Like many bars, Etro for sure, the people that you work with are family. You check in on everyone once in a while making sure everything is ok and staying healthy.
Kimberly thought she had gotten the virus when she was having trouble breathing. Walking up the stairs to her apartment exhausted her to the point where she knew she had to go to see a Dr. To her surprise, in the beginning of September, she found out she has Metastatic Breast Cancer. The cancer has spread to her brain, bones and lungs.
Kimberly lives by herself and doesn’t have much family around and has been in the hospital for most of the time since she found out. She has gone through all of her savings and fears what may happen if she is not able to pay bills (rent, car note, etc...) within the next couple of weeks.
This is the season of giving. Her friends and family are asking for any amount of generosity you can spare. Please keep Kimberly in your thoughts and prayers. Thank you!
