Acts of kindness shown to a complete stranger in need is truly one of the most compassionate gifts someone can give without truly realizing YOU are now apart of the reason that strangers need has now been filled.
My name is Kimberly Ann Johnson and I AM THAT STRANGER IN NEED!
January 21, 2019, my wishes and dreams for all the memories yet to be made in my future 30 40 50+ years were shattered when I heard the Nurse's words on the other end of the phone:
"Kimberly your biopsy results came back. I'm sorry but you have Stage2 Breast Cancer". I asked her if she could hold for a moment, I ran down the steps to the kitchen where my mom was. As she turned around with tears rolling down my face I stumbled to get the words out to say "Mom I have Breast Cancer", immediately falling into her arms as she hugged me tightly saying "I'm so sorry, it's going to be ok, your going to be ok". I then told her I will put the nurse on speaker phone so we can both hear the details.
The next days Pathology Report gave us more bad news. Diagnosis is: Invasive Ductal Carcinoma (IDC) - Stage 2B - Triple Positive HER2Positive - Aggressive Breast Cancer that has spread to LymphNode. Bc my cancer is HER2 Positive, it requires a more aggressive treatment plan and has a mich higher rate of re-ocurrence/ metastasis.
My treatment plan:
> 17 Chemo Treatments
> 9hr Double Mastectomy with
Reconstruction Surgery
> 30 Radiation Targeted
Treatments
Unfortunately my body has reacted very poorly to my treatment thus far. Since being diagnosed with BC, I have had:
7 surgeries, 4 surgical procedures, 25+ misc tests, countless 30-5hr appts with Breast Cancer Surgeons, Oncologists', Wound Specialist, Infectious Disease Specialist, Radiation Surgeon, Plastic Surgeon plus many numerous other surgeons and specialists', 10 Emergency Room Visits and (7) 5-14 day Hospital stays due to many painful complications and side effects.
My family (including my furbaby's who have licked my tears away more times than I can remember..Mommy loves you Bentley+EllieMae), friends and even complete strangers uplifting quotes + poems + bible verses as well as never-ending encouraging support are what has gotten me thru all the above hurdles and I have incredible faith they will help thru the long road of treatments thru April 2020 including:
My upcoming VERY long 9HR DOUBLE MASTECTOMY with RECONSTRUCTION SURGERY scheduled for **AUGUST 14th**.
As you an imagine, my medical expenses not covered by my insurance are already well into the thousands and thousands of dollars. With 9 more months of treatment plus my Double Mastectomy with Reconstruction Surgery, my medical expenses not covered by insurance are going to be astronomical.
My disability check can just go so far to pay monthly expenses.
Due to all the complications and daily pain, I'm unable to work and not receiving any paid leave.
With $600+ monthly going towards Prescriptions + Insurance Premiums, my small disability check doesn't begin to cover expenses.
With my surgery approaching quickly, I wanted to reach out in hopes that you will help me turn my focus to healing from surgery and all my many future treatments.
Praying you will help ease my rapidly gowing financial burden by donating.
Each and every donation is appreciated more than you can imagine.
Lastly, let me add:
"KIMBERLY WILL BEAT
BREAST CANCER 4EVER!!!"
MANY BLESSINGS TO EVERYONE
KIMBERLY
