Funeral Expenses for Kimberly Conner

I am starting this gofundme on behalf of my family to help with funeral expenses and to celebrate the life of our beautiful daughter, sister, aunt and friend, Kimberly Conner. On October 14, 2022, Kimberly Conner passed away in her hospice bed, defeated by her rare disease, Kearns-Sayre Syndrome.

Kearns-Sayre Syndrome (KSS) is a rare neuromuscular disorder with onset usually before the age of 20 years. It is the result of abnormalities in the DNA of mitochondria - small rod-like structures found in every cell of the body that produce the energy that drives cellular functions. Kim was diagnosed when she was only 19 years old, when she received her first pacemaker and defibrillator. Back in 2012, at the age of 41, she received a heart transplant.

Her journey was a hard one, but she always had a positive outlook on life. She loved the Pittsburgh Penguins, the Pittsburgh Steelers, Bon Jovi or any 90's metal "hair bands", going to concerts, Ichiban and Cheesecake Factory, and enjoying time with her family. She always put everyone above herself and never missed a birthday!
