Kimberly Waddell's Medical Fund

Hello, my name is Heather Cummins. I am Kim's oldest daughter, one of six children.
My mom is one of the kindest people you could meet. She has always been my best friend, even as a child, when it was just my bother, her, and I.  She has always made sure us kids were taken care of. The best example of this I remember from my childhood is that my mom would make our plates for us, make my dads for him, and make sure we were full before she ate at all. It may have not seemed like a big deal to her but it spoke volumes to me about the kind of person she truely is.
She would check on us every night before she went to bed and tuck us in. I remember her singing "You are my Sunshine" to me when I was having a hard time sleeping or if I was sick. She was always there! I hate that my mother is sick and there is nothing I can do to help her the way she has always helped me. To sit here and not be the one to care for her, or be able to help her anymore than handing her a cup of water.
We were raised in church and my whole life I have been taught to put my faith in God. My mother is the best example of that that a child could ask for. She keeps telling everyone that God was not surprised by any of this and that he will see her through it. Her unwavering faith is an inspiration to me and many more of my mothers friends and church family. About her illness.
Recently my mother was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer that has metastasized to her spine, ribs and cervix. She started having some back pain and about a month ago. She went to the chiropractor and he ordered an x-ray and did some adjustments but the pain never went away and just kept getting worse. Now you have to understand my mom believes completely in God. So she does not go to the doctor unless absolutely necessary! She was in so much pain that she went to urgent care. They gave her some pain meds and muscle relaxers and said to keep seeing her chiroprator and if she wasn't feeling better in two weeks to come back. She went back exactly a week later. She was then scheduled for an MRI a week and two days away from when she was seen. In the process of waiting to get the MRI done she lost the ability to walk on her own do to loss of feeling in her right leg. Fast forward a week and she gets the MRI that was on April 28th. On April 29th she went to her doctor to get the results of the mri. The doctor told her to go to the E.R. so she could get treatment started right away. On April 29th my mom was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer. Today, May 5th she got her first Radiation treatment, the first step in her treatment plan. She is handling it like a trooper! My mom is by far the strongest person in our family!! She would do anything for anybody and even now that she is sick in a hospital bed is still more worried about everyone else being taken care of.   My mother does not have medical insurance so I am starting the go fund me to help with her medical expenses.
