Kimise Songbird Lee’s Road to Recovery
Dear Family & Friends!
Our sister in music Kimise “Songbird” Lee, a Washingtonian who has over 25 years in the Go-Go Community has been battling multiple health issues. We are kicking off a campaign to support Kimise and we need your help. You may have heard that she was recently diagnosed with COVID – 19, and due to other health issues, it caused many other complications. While her prognosis is good, she has a lengthy recovery ahead. This process will prevent the workaholic from returning to her busy life as a sort after vocalist/performer, entrepreneur, and Data Analyst at MNCPPC. Her insurance will not cover the myriad of hospital bills that she is already accumulating. We all Love Kimise for her fierce spirit, HUGE heart, beautiful voice, and the inspiration she gives to so many in her circle as well as her community. She often supports and gives generously of her time, talent, and treasures to so many worthy causes. Especially those that involve children. She is always sacrificing precious time on behalf of others, that she could be spending with her own family. Kimise has tenure with some of DC’s top bands like The Original Suttle Thoughts, DC Vybe, and now her very own ALL FEMALE BAND “NSPIRED SOUL BAND” (just to name some). Lee is so very well loved in the Go-Go Community and beyond. We can’t cure Kimise, but we can help ease the financial burden and resultant stress that she is facing. She has had numerous trips to the ER, only to end up hospitalized and on life support for 3 days. She fought for her life graciously, and GOD has seen fit to keep her here with us, and for that we are grateful. It is not every day that you get a 2nd chance at life. Kimise has such an attitude of gratitude for each breath she now takes. GOD allowed Kimise to survive to sing a new song, and to share her powerful testimony of healing with the world. Our goal is to raise $5,000.00 to help Kimise stay afloat until returning to work. On behalf of “Nspired Soul Band”, we say THANK YOU FROM OUR HEARTS TO HERS. No amount is too great or too small, and any amount will be greatly & humbly appreciated, and remember, “Those who are happiest are those who do the most for others.” (Booker T. Washington) Thank you!
