KIMMIE KICKS CANCER

Hi, my name is Darci.  For those of you who don't know me, I'm Kim's cousin and the other half of her brain.  She is incredibly special to me, and I'm assuming to you as well, since you're reading this. 

Last month, Kim received the news that she has thyroid cancer.  Luckily, this is a very treatable cancer.   But, cancer is still cancer, and she has a long road ahead of her. . . physically, mentally, emotionally and financially.  So, I've created this GoFundMe to raise money for her as she begins the process of kicking thyroid cancer's butt!

Kim has insurance and will be managing the mountain of medical bills coming her way.  This assistance is meant to provide her with extra funds (immediately) to pay bills and other expenses as she's forced to take time off from her position as a nanny, which unfortunately doesn't offer paid sick leave. 

Kim's initial treatment will include surgery and the use of radioactive iodine to target her thyroid cancer cells. This will literally make her radioactive and unable to be around people, especially young children, for at least three weeks.  Her total recovery time, and absence from work, is expected to be between 6 and 12 weeks.
