Kimmy Mora needs emergency heart surgery

Donation protected
On Wednesday July 13th while in San Diego with family Kimmy began to have chest pains. She was taken to Scripp’s hospital. A few hours after and in the early morning hours on Thursday, she was notified she had a major “cardiac event” or a heart attack. This event has changed the trajectory of their lives. I ask that if you can support the Mora Family with a donation to help support them in this time. Kimmy will need to have an open heart surgery and/or possibly heart transplant depending on what cardiologists at Cedars-Sanai interpret with all her tests. Because she is stable, they are going to transfer Kimmy closer to home, Cedars-Sanai Hospital in the event a heart transplant is needed. And they feel that her recovery time could be much longer than normal, given her unique situation. Pray that this transition is a smooth one with insurance and coverages and that she is placed in excellent hands there.

Franky, her husband says, “I have to first acknowledge that even though this news has brought me to my knees, I can't help but feel the peace and presence of God in ALL that is taking place! It is our God that has made each of us perfect in His image! Just to stop and think how our heart beats all on its own with its own electrical activity is nothing shy of the Lords love for us.

The cardiologists are in awe of what they have just witnessed. My wife, at just 41 yrs old has suffered a heart attack and the angiogram now shows that her left coronary artery is 100% occluded. They can't understand how Kimmy has been able to function let alone still be living an active and busy life! It's a miracle! This occlusion didn't happen overnight, doctor says it has been years in the making. By the grace of God, her heart has been able to create small pathways that have branched out around the left coronary artery to still supply some oxygenated blood to the left side of her heart. Her right coronary artery is healthy and open which has helped too. My wife will require open heart surgery to fix the problem. The cardiologist is hopeful that she will return to a normal life after surgery.

I wish you could have seen the look on the doctor's eyes when he broke the news to me. A trained medical professional in awe of what a walking miracle my wife is right now. I have no words to describe it myself. They found the problem, they have a plan, and I just continue to ask for prayers for the next few days ahead of us. Please know that Kimmy is a strong person and she loves our Lord and Savior with all her heart. I wish to one day be as amazing and obedient as she is. She has always been my inspiration. I truly believe that it is because of her obedience to Him and her servant's heart, that my wife is alive and her life has been blessed!”

Her left coronary artery is 100% closed, which means her left anterior descending and her left obtuse arteries are also occluded! the RCA and the RAA have been able to wrap around and grow more to help oxygenate the left side of the heart!!! I can’t believe it! They can’t believe how she has been able to function and push herself for this long!

What they know:
1) Her left coronary artery is 100% occluded.

2) Her heart function is only at 30%

3) She has two leaky/malfunction valves in her heart that they have to repair.

-Thank you all for all your love and support. The prayers are definitely being felt. Keep them coming.
