Kims Recovery Journey

Dear Friends and Family,

Our mom, Kim Morrissette, endured a medical health scare on Saturday, July 8th, where a simple doctor's appointment in the morning lead to an extensive emergency surgery later that evening.

After numerous tests, it was discovered that Kim had mal rotation of her organs, where surgeons worked to partially resect her colon, cecum, and small intestine.

With such an entanglement of her internal organs, Kim was in surgery for over 4.5 hours in which she was later held in the ICU to start her recovery journey.

Kim has been in the Parkland Medical Center ever since and has received phenomenal care and support by all medical staff around her. Kim's return back home is still unknown.

Kim, who lives on her own, will require an extensive amount of time off of work - as well as an extensive amount of rehabilitation to get her back on her feet. Both of which being a heavy mental and financial burden for not only herself but her loved ones around her.
