Kinder Scout Trek for the Campaign for Southern Equality
Tax deductible
The Campaign for Southern Equality is a charity based in Asheville, North Carolina, and works across the south of the United States to promote full LGBTQ equality and directly support LGBTQ folks. Their help is needed now more than ever, so I'm raising money in aid of my friends and community across the pond.
On the 23rd of November I'm going to embark on a 25 mile trek from Sheffield, through Hope Valley, to the summit of Kinder Scout (the tallest mountain in the peak district). Additionally, every step of the way I'll be bearing the flag of trans pride to show that there is hope in the community persevering.
Please lend your support so that the Campaign for Southern Equality can:
- Expand access to LGBTQ-friendly primary care, HIV care, and support services in Western North Carolina,
- Provide rapid response support directly to the families of youth who are impacted by anti-transgender healthcare bans in the South,
- Run Pop-Up clinics that provide direct services and resources on topics such as name changes and family rights,
- Conduct independant research into the health, equity, and well-being of LGBTQ people in the south,
and produce other resources to help the LGBTQ community in general in southern states.
