Kingpin Matt Lackey amputation rehab fund
Donation protected
Our dear friend, Matt Lackey, from the Kingpin Tattoo crew, unfortunately had to have his right foot and shin amputated due to a medical misdiagnoses. After seeing many doctors over a course of weeks about the severe foot pain and change of temperature in his foot and lower leg he was sent to radiology where it was discovered he had a clot in his artery in his right leg. He was rushed to another hospital where doctors saved his life by removing the major clot and and some of the smaller ones that had moved down his leg before they could reach his heart or lungs. They were optimistic but a pulse never returned to his foot. As the pain increased it became clear the only option left was a below the knee amputation. He is still waiting on results of the reason why exactly it seems he has a blood clotting disorder. Which either means multiple trips a week to get his blood tested or blood thinner medication that costs 450 a month. Everything went well with the amputation surgery and Matt is now in recovery but it will be a long road ahead of him to get back to a normal life. He will need a very expensive prosthetic, approximately $35,000. He will go through a few prosthetics throughout the first year of healing while his limb takes shape to it’s
final form. He will not be able to tattoo until he’s healed and rehabilitated. Matt is the bread winner of his family including his wife and three children. The medical bills are also piling up fast, any donation will help immensely. Thank you so much!
