Kings Heath Cat Rescue

This is Toast; he is one of the many cats Kings Heath Cat Rescue are helping or have helped. We have had over 1000 cats through the doors since opening 6 years ago.

We are asking for your help so that we can continue the work that we do. The Rescue is funded and runs entirely upon volunteers, donations, goodwill and hard work.

Unfortunately, we have had to reach the decision to close the Rescue to all but genuine emergencies. We don't take this decision lightly, and it saddens us, knowing how many cats need our help and the impending cold weather coming up.

We have had to take this decision to safeguard the cats within our care and due to the enormous vet bills we currently have (over £9K), our vets Whitecross at both Kings Heath and Bloxwich, have been incredibly supportive and have continued to provide the necessary vet care. But, we feel the responsible thing to do is to work hard to get our vet bill down.

We know times are incredibly hard at the moment for everyone, and your support as ever is fantastic; we would really like to see a huge reduction in our bill so that we can continue the work that really makes a difference.

We have some amazing Fundraisers coming up; our 6th Birthday celebrations are underway, we have some great auctions going on.

We know from our previous Fundraisers that every 50p counts for us; please don't feel it doesn't make a difference; every single penny counts. The majority of our Fundraisers for cats needing specialist care have often been £10 or less, but it has raised much-needed funds.

As well as the cats coming through the Rescue, we now have a colony of 10 FIV Feral Cats that live permanently in our care and some Feral Cats on end of life care, that other Rescues have asked us to take. There are so few places these cats would be able to go, and without this chance, they would have been put to sleep.
