Kinley’s Stronger than Pilocytic Astrocytoma

Kinley- A beautiful light in this world with the most loving soul had her world, as well as her family’s, turned upside down. What began with a trip to the ER for persistent chronic headaches spanning over several months time, turned out to be the greatest challenge she may ever face. After an MRI they found a mass on Kinley’s brain. She was life flighted to Children’s Mercy where she was diagnosed with an Ependymoma Tumor. She is under going surgery to remove the tumor where they are hopeful to get clear margins, but the future is still uncertain.

UPDATE: Kinley underwent a successful surgery, although they were not able to remove all of the mass they were able to get answers. Pathology results have come back and a new diagnosis has been received, Pilocytic Astrocytoma. Kinley will be able to go on and live a very normal life. She will require lots of monitoring for years to come and still has a long road to recovery. Kinley is so strong and loving and we know she can overcome this. We are praying and wrapping her and her family with so much love. Thank you for your generosity during this unthinkably hard time.
