Aloha. My cousins Hana Johnson (Aunty Rubelliteʻs daughter), Erin Kinney Lindsey, my brother Shawn Pimental and I are helping our Maui ʻohana directly affected by the Lahaina Fire. These cousins Bernadine Kapuauʻi Kaina, Drusilla Lanihuli Kaina, Peter Bernard Kaina, Noreen Lanihau (Kaina) Rederos, Renette Berni-dee Kalananāpua (Jesse on Dialysis) Watson, DeAnn Orpha Kahomealoha Kaina, Kihāpiʻilani William Kinney Kaina, and Bernard Lono Kalawaiʻa Kaina are Hawaiian cultural ambassadors, teachers (Kamehameha III school burned down), leaders, faithful disciples of Jesus in Lahaina, Napili, and Hana. We all just buried their mama Orpha Uluhani Kinney Kaina days before this fire. At her funeral, Keʻeaumoku Kapu called Aunty Orpha "keeper of generational knowledge of land, water, shoreline, ocean, air and ongoing protection of our kupuna burial grounds. This family helped craft the language that is now Hawaii law under the ʻAha Moku (Acts 212 and 288) about how we teach the next generation of Hawaii mahiʻai (farmers of the land) and lawaiʻa (farmers of the ocean)."

All immediate family members named here are safe and healthy, but there are 3 extended ʻohana that are missing. Most of the ʻohana are staying in Napili, but are without electricity, internet and phone, and they now face unemployment and serious hardship. In the middle of the chaos and their own grieving, they are leading the charge to care for others delivering food, water and propane. "Mobile Kanaka Costco!" This is what is meant when Hawaiians say Kokua nā honoapiʻilani. The bays of Piʻilani help.

Check out this video on Kiha.

Cousins Hana, Erin, Shawn and I took it upon ourselves to help these families, they did not ask for us to start this gofundme account, but they are now tearfully thankful for the way they say, "Jesus provides." All monies will be sent directly to cousin DeAnn to distribute as the family needs. A sincere mahalo nui to each and all for your generosity in supporting them at this difficult time.

E kokua kākou i nā honoapiʻilani,
(Letʻs all help the bays of the high chief Piʻilani)

With our deepest aloha and mahalo,

Hana Johnson, Erin Kinney Lindsey, Shawn Pimental and Kahu (Pastor) Kihāpiʻilani Pimental
