William Kiprop's Medical Fund
Donation protected
Michelle and William Kiprop serve with Hope Matters International in Kenya to minister the love of Christ in a tangible way by physically and spiritually reaching out to serve impoverished African families and individuals through community advancement, healthcare, and development programs.
On the night of October 2nd, William suffered a life-threatening injury. His hand was severed completely and detached from his arm. All alone in the field, God sustained and protected William through this tragedy, giving him the clarity of thought to use his watch as a tourniquet and the focus to drive himself home. It's a miracle of God that William didnt die on the spot from loss of blood.
William was quickly rushed into a 12 hour surgery with the hope of successfully re-attaching his hand. The doctors were transparent with William and Michelle that the odds of success were 50/50.
About 48 hours later the surgeons determined that the blood flow to his fingers wasn't sufficient and a decision was made to fully amputate William's hand. Yet another major surgery.
William is now recovering and already adapting to life without his hand - already attempting to tie and untie the strings on hospital gown.
William is now recovering, however, their in-country medical insurance will cover only a fraction of the medical bills. Currently the estimate for the two surgeries, hospital stay, medications, etc is between $7,000 and $10,000. This doesnt not include future physical and occupational therapy. Nor future prosthetic options.
Obviously the healthcare system in Kenya is different than here in the US. In some cases the hospital will not release the patient until the medical bills are paid. Thus, time is of the essense.
Any gifts given will be help the Kiprops with these current medical bills. Your gifts will be directly wired to Michelle and William's personal bank account.
William and Michelle are grateful for the out-pouring of prayers and encouragement during this trial. Hundreds of people have messaged them through Facebook, texts, skype, etc.
We now have the opportunity to tangibly bless this family with gifts of financial help.
