Help Kira Pay Her Medical Bills

In 2020, Kira underwent a subtotal colectomy, which is basically when the majority of your colon is removed.
In 2023, Kira gave birth to her first daughter, Isabella, in October.
On January 25th, 2024, she developed severe pain in her pelvic floor, which led to three unexpected hospital stays, four surgeries, and most recently, starting chemotherapy. A rollercoaster marked by fistulas, pancreatitis, and a tumor in her abdomen the size of a football. (Not kidding). Thankfully, a biopsy found it to be benign, but over the last few weeks, it has proven to be aggressive. It has taken over her superior mesenteric artery, making her no longer a candidate for surgery. With that being said, she started the process of chemotherapy at the end of March to try to slow down this desmoid.
I have known Kira since I was 12, meaning that I have had the pleasure of watching her grow, and I love every version of her. I know how she takes care of everyone else before herself. I have always told her that I think she gives too much; she thinks she never gives enough. Right now, she is not only navigating becoming a new mother but also coming to terms with the fact that early motherhood is not going to be the way she envisioned it. Staying overnight at hospitals, being in pain, feeling like she is unable to give her all to Isabella, and recovering from multiple surgeries. Now she is starting chemo. This would be enough for me to explode, but Kira manages to be very pragmatic and optimistic. Quincy has stepped up as a father and a husband, but he is only one person. Kira and Quincy live in Atlanta away from immediate family, and even though they have amazing family members who have been visiting as much as they can to help, that can still be incredibly isolating. Right now, they need support in a way that I know Kira would never ask for on her own. Something that I have learned recently is that just because you can be strong and independent doesn't mean you have to. That's what the community is for, to uplift you when you can't lift yourself.
Kira and Quincy are feeling overwhelmed since all of this has amounted to over $30,000 (and counting) in medical bills. Our starting goal is $10,000. If you are able to donate, that would mean the world; even $10 can add up. If you are not able to donate, we understand. If you could share this post, that would be amazing.
