Kirby's Retirement Surprise

As you probably know, Steve Kirby is officially retiring from race directing at the end of the Virginia Anvil on October 15. Kirby has gone beyond the call of duty over the past 23 years to help countless athletes realize their dreams and become more than what they thought was possible. Whether you're an athlete, crew, volunteer or staff member, you have been welcomed with open arms by Kirby into the Anvil Family.

Now, it's time to show our appreciation. As you know, there are no hefty pension plans awaiting an independent race director. You definitely do this job, as Kirby has, because you love the work and the people. So, let's show him some love in return.

Donate to a surprise retirement bonus from the Anvil Family to be presented at the Awards Ceremony after the Virginia Anvil. I'm hoping we raise enough to send Kirby and Cindy on a nice vacation to celebrate this momentous occasion. For those donating, I will also be putting together a little booklet with pictures and your personal notes wishing Kirby a happy retirement and thanks for all he's done for the ultra-endurance community.
