KIRK BURGESS

KIRK BURGESS, with his friend Joseph. They had ridden their bikes to the top of Red Rocks on Saturday, the day before Kirk’s birthday. Two minutes after this picture Joseph was calling 911 as Kirk was hit by a car.

Kirk has 9 broken ribs in his right back, 3 broken ribs in the right front. His right kidney was bruised and has a fractured elbow requiring surgery. His right lung is unable to function at full capacity and he will be on oxygen until he recovers.

Kirk does not have any short-term disability benefits and will likely be unable to work for many months. Any contribution you can make will help to cover this lapse in employment and allow the family to focus on Kirk’s healing
