Kirkby Lonsdale Fire Disaster Impact Support Fund

This Go Fund Me page launched on Tuesday 10th December by the KL Disaster Recovery Partnership, hosted by Lunesdale Hall (Charity No 523063) mainly due to a call from people wanting to give something to help people affected by the devastating fire in Kirkby Lonsdale. This fund has raised just over £30K which is truly amazing and a huge thank you to all who have donated.

This fund is now closed, as Cumbria Community Foundation, working closely with the Kirkby Lonsdale Community Recovery Partnership, has launched the Kirkby Lonsdale Fire Disaster Recovery Appeal to address hardship caused by the devastating fire. The appeal has been supported with a donation of £50,000 from Westmorland and Furness Council and the Foundation is seeking more donations. We would therefore encourage everyone to donate to this appeal via this link: Kirkby Lonsdale Fire Disaster Appeal

Monies from the Go Fund Me page are released at the end of the month and the Kirkby Lonsdale Community Recovery Partnership will decide how these monies are distributed to the group’s donations have been made for namely; affected businesses (some who don’t have insurance), personal support for displaced and affected residents and home owners.

More details about the Kirkby Lonsdale Fire Disaster Recovery Appeal can be found in this press release –Click Here

Original Information
Do you want to join me in making a difference?
Kirkby Lonsdale, Sunday 8th December, we suffered a devastating fire in the old market hall, impacting the main street and ancient heart of our beautiful town.
As a consequence the impact has been vast and as a town have come together with great support. Offers from far and wide from people wanting to help.
This fundraising page has been created to provide urgent and longer term financial support for affected businesses (some who don't have insurance), personal support for displaced and affected residents and home owners.
The fund has been created by the Lunesdale Hall committee and will work closely with the other main fundraising page. It will be managed by a committee ( to be formed) , applications and distribution of urgent and non urgent monies will begin over the next week.
We are likely to produce an application process and will update once commenced.

Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause that will be hugely appreciated by all who are struggling with the impact of the fire.
