KP Student Trip Sound-to-Sea Prog.

The 4th and 5th grade classes at Kirkman Park Spanish Immersion Elementary School-- located in High Point, North Carolina-- are an amazing group of students! With 2 of our 4 classes, being bi- and multi-lingual, we are working to expand their experience to the beautiful coast of North Carolina in Salters Path. Provided by the Sound-to-Sea Program, we have been awarded the chance to take 48 of our students and 8 teachers and chaperons on this amazing experience.
Because we are a Title I school, many of our students may not be able to afford the entire cost of this trip. The staff and students at Kirkman Park Spanish Immersion Magnet school would like to ask for your support in fundraising efforts to help send our 4th and 5th grade students on their annual field trip.
On April 19 - 21, our students have the unique opportunity to attend a program called Sound to Sea at the Trinity Center in Salters Path, North Carolina.
During this 3-day long trip, our students will be able to experience numerous activities related to the ecosystems in this area of the state. Specifically, the students will be able to experience learning activities about the North Carolina Sound (plant life, animals, and how it affects the surrounding area), as well as the Atlantic Ocean all in one location. They will also learn about how this ecosystem affects the economy of the community.
The total cost of this trip is $9520. Our school has secured a grant that covers the cost of the charter bus for $3600, which has taken our cost per student down to $170. As a Title One School, many of our students are not able to afford the remaining cost of attending such a trip. We are asking your support in helping to offset the cost, so that as many of our students as possible will be able to attend.
Thank you for your support. We appreciate any form of contribution you may be able to provide no matter how big or small.
If you have any further questions about the trip or how you can donate to our efforts, please contact me at Kirkman Park Elementary School (High Point, NC) at [phone redacted].
Love and Light,
