Mother (Kisha ) Hit by Drunk Driver

Donation protected
On May 28th early Sunday morning, my friend Kisha Sierra, member of our comedy troupe, was driving home with her mom and sister. They were hit by a drunk driver. Kisha's left side received the impact of the crash, resulting in a hairline fracture on her pelvic bone. It's going to take 4 to 6 weeks before she's allowed to use her left leg (that she has very little control over)  and months before she can return to her normal activities including work. She had taken time off  from bartending at the famous New Orleans karaoke bar "Cat's Meow", where she just started working to save up and move to California with her son. She was visiting family in WA and now her injuries are preventing her from flying back home. After 5 days in the hospital, Kisha was released. Three days later she was forced to return to the hospital with a deep vein thrombosis (blood clot) threatening her lungs.  This accident takes her off the market as a bartender and working actress, she has a teenage son, medical bills that are stacking up, prescriptions she has to take and bills she needs to cover. Kisha's done a considerable amount of charity work in her time, raising money for Dan McKown after the Tacoma Mall shooting in 2005 and organizing  fundraisers for local causes in her community.

This could've happened to any one,  we are deeply saddened that someone else's decision to drive drunk completely altered our beloved friend.  Please please please please help us raise money to help our friend get the care she needs, out of pocket expenses paid and bills covered while recovering... No donation is too small, no donation is too big.

Kisha is a fun and free spirited woman who loves the outdoors, spending time with her friends and family.
She established a fund for our troupe's head and we will not leave her to suffer for actions that were not her own.  Please, help us help our friend through this hard time. Her words for the driver were both compassionate and wise:
 Dear drunk driver:

It was Saturday night when my mother, sister and I went to the casino... On our return home, we stopped by Safeway (24 hr grocery store) to get last minute things for our mini vacation that would start Sunday morning. Great Wolf Lodge here we come! A trip mostly catered for my son.. Little did we know, you'd already made your choice to get behind the wheel after drinking at a club and well, because that wasn't enough, you were headed to an after party right as we resumed our drive. Looking forward to what was going to be hands down the best mini vacation ever, I saw (out of the corner of my eye) your blatant disregard toward the stop sign demanding you to stop. Instead, you accelerated through it like it was the finish line. All I could get out was "oh my God" and before I could do anything you hit us.
My little sister went into superman mode. As she was checking on our mom and pleading people to call 911 I sat in the driver seat frozen, completely terrified because I couldn't move my left leg. After CT scans and X-rays I was informed I have a fracture on my pelvic bone. I (the habitual runner) can't even consider walking for at least 6 more weeks. That means I can't fly back home, I can't work, I can't provide for my son, and I most certainly can't be independent. It's going to be around 6 months before I can run again. I'm finally being released from the hospital today and I want to so badly forgive you, because I know some day I will and I'd rather live without the venom in my heart. I know everything happens for a reason and I'm aware that the outcome could've been much worse... But I'm writing you this (in case you happen to look me up) so you're aware of the consequences stemming from your actions and perhaps inspire you to educate others on not drinking and driving. Unlike you, we each individually asked how you were. Now my mom is terrified to be in a car, I have nightmares every night and can't catch a break from the pain and my poor sister's vacation will now consist of in home care until she leaves for Japan in a week. I pray and hope you never drink and drive again... I pray for your family, I pray for forgiveness in my heart and I pray for a quicker recovery.

Wishing your family my best,

Kisha Sierra
