Kisoro Young Boys Football Academy

KYBFA is a volunteer-run, not-for-profit, football academy for children aged 4 - 16 years located in Kisoro Town, Uganda. It is one of the most isolated areas in Uganda. Our founders, Ali and Benon, met on the football pitch in Kisoro during the CV-19 lockdown. Together they saw the need for children to have access to a safe space to learn new skills, showcase their talents and hopefully provide a platform that leads to better opportunities.
Fast forward to 2024 and we have become a significant part of the local community with over 100 regular members on our books. Our roles in nurturing these young talents has allowed us to help many of them access bursaries at nearby schools. There are no membership or attendance fees charged, not least as this would be unaffordable to most.
Each December we host our annual football tournament, giving all the kids a chance to play in a competitive environment. The tournament is well attended and we recruit locally born cabinet ministers and national team players as special guests to come and speak and present awards.
This year we need your help in reaching our target of £3000 to help facilitate the tournament. Your contribution will help go towards new balls and kits as well as the overall event production costs spanning from food and refreshments for both players and their parents to referee facilitation and pitch preparation.
