Kiama was declared a major city by the ABS in 2024. Yes, hard to believe. We have one traffic light!

This means that KISS is no longer eligible for Regional Arts funding, a source of 40% of our budget.

The KISS Arts festival has been in existence for 12 years and has grown from only a few hundred in its first year to over 20,000 people in 2023.

KISS is a free and accessible family friendly event, it is a highly unique offering and a fave on the Kiama events schedule.

Here are a couple of facts that are not widely known about KISS

1. KISS is not a Kiama Council run event. KISS is supported by Destination Kiama to the amount of approximately 5% of the total budget.

2. KISS is a mostly free event for the public. Every penny of the budget is raised personally by the directors from partnerships, grants and bar and cabaret ticket sales.
