Kiyomi Needs Surgery
Donation protected
Hello. My name is Des. The sweet kitty in the picture is Kiyomi in our Catio on the Patio : ) and she loves to hang out on the top shelf. Kiyomi is not happy right now. She sleeps all day and doesn't really hang out with the other family members in the house. She has a tumor in her ear and needs surgery to have it removed.
Over a year ago I adopted Kiyomi. My husband and I were to give Kiyomi to my youngest daughter for her 18th birthday. The next day after bringing Kiyomi home, we noticed she had been scratching her ear so much that it would bleed. We thought she had maybe cut her ear on something while exploring her new home and we kept an eye on it to see if it would get better. Well, it didn't get better after a couple of days so we took her to the vet clinic to have her checked out. The veterinarian told us she had a small ear infection and when the swelling goes down she would be able to see inside the ear better. The vet sent us home with medicine and a collar and we made a follow-up appointment. When we returned to the vet 2 weeks later, the vet saw that the swelling went down but her ear wasn't healing completely. The vet examined her further and that's when we were told it was a tumor. The vet offered more medicine to ease any pain and we were given an estimate of approx. $1,700 for the surgery. The medicine and follow-up visits were not included in the estimate. All the medications and vet trips have become a financial burden and it's very overwhelming.
It breaks my heart to see Kiyomi in this condition. It breaks my heart to see my daughter distraught over Kiyomi's condition. She is an amazing cat mama and takes great care of Kiyomi. My daughter will be going to Cosmetology school next year and she is very excited. I certainly don't want this unfortunate condition of Kiyomi's to take away from her schooling. I want her to stay focused.
The surgery, medicines, and aftercare visits to the vet are not in my budget at all. So I am left with the choice of reaching out for support. I humbly ask for your support so Kiyomi can have the surgery and treatment she needs. 100% of the funds donated will be given to the vet for the cost of the surgery, medicines, and aftercare visits.
If you are unable to contribute financially, my family and I completely understand. We understand that times are tough for all right now. Please know that your moral support, any kind words, and sharing of this fundraiser with your social networks are just as valuable.
Your contributions and support will be forever appreciated and cherished.
I will keep updates on Kiyomi once she gets started.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
