Support for the Soto Family

Ms. Soto, our beloved Science teacher here at Helms Middle School, has recently been faced with a tragedy and lost her husband and life partner suddenly to Covid-19. Ms. Soto is a founding and beloved member of the Helms Internationals Academy team, working with Newcomer middle school students. She is also a dedicated Science Lead Teacher that mentors new teachers coming into the profession with an amazing program called Trellis. 

Mr. Soto was called back into work in unsafe conditions and then was not supported with the appropriate medical care once he went in for help. This left Ms. Soto and her four daughters reeling from the harsh realities of being unable to do anything for their father and husband. Unfortunately, there was nothing more to be done and the Soto family now is trying to heal together with their biggest support gone.

Ms. Soto and her family need as much support as possible with the unexpected expenses associated with losing a family member and income. We know everyone is going through a difficult time right now and really appreciate the community coming together to help one of our own. Any help with be greatly appreciated.
