ICE BATH CHALLENGE
Donation protected
Hello everybody, Myself and Nicolle (TruckerBaddie) are coming together to help raise money and awareness for a lovely little boy Ethan, that has had a very hard start to life.
Our goal this festive season is to do an ice bath challenge every weekday throughout December.
A lot of you truckers out there might have already met him, as he attends nearly every truck show as he has a massive love for trucks!
Ethan Adams from Brownhills is 6 year old and has a huge passion for trucks. He absolutely loves truck shows and anything truck related. He spends hours on local bridges waving to get the truck drivers to beep, which I think they love just as much as him… A Scania V8 is his favourite.
Ethan was diagnosed with burketts leukemia two weeks after his 4th birthday in June 21. He had to spend 6 months in hospital in isolation recieving a course of intensive chemotherapy. This was a very stressful and challenging time for the family as the isolation also meant boredom for him. The nurses on ward 18 at Birmingham Children's hospital club together to offer the children a bravery box, they get to pick a small toy for having a procedure or overcoming a fear etc. Obviously the staff can't afford to keep filling the box with fantastic toys. This is where Ethan's Journey comes in..... Any money we collect/raise is used to buy toys and tubie stickers for the kids to pick from after returning back from theater, xrays, MRI scans, having bloods taken to having feeding tubes inserted up their nose.
To see the joy on the kids faces when they get to pick something is a feeling you can't describe. The toys also help relieve the boredom of been stuck in a confined space and help stimulate the children while going through something no child should have too. Ethan is now in 2yrs remission and loves going back to the hospital with the donations and seeing all the nurses who looked after him.
Ethan has come to see us at every truck show and loves to have a sit in cab and blow the air horns! When his mum Laura told me his story it absolutely broke my heart! The joy and happiness this little boy has is unbelievable, even with everything he has been through! Your support means a lot to us and every little helps.
Thank you for taking the time to read this, I know December can be a hard month for a lot of people so if you can’t donate, a way to help would be to share this link on your social media to reach more people.
Many Thanks Shannon, Nicolle, Ethan & Laura
