Niza Ortiz: Beloved Mother & Madrina

It is with much sadness, and a heavy heart, I share the passing of my mother Niza Ortiz.

Words can never describe how my siblings and I are feeling right now but I find comfort in knowing she has been relieved of her ailments and medical torment and is reuniting in heaven, with her mother, my father and my brother.

Niza was currently living in Atlanta, GA. Due to financial and health reasons, there was no convenient location for a formal viewing.

My siblings and I must ask for help at this time, mainly to help in the long term care of our brother, Pucho. He is mentally and physically disabled. With these immediate funds, I plan on relocating my brother, having him return to New York where there are more family members able to physically come together to make my brother’s transition as smooth as possible. Because Pucho is non-verbal we need to be his foundation to cope with our mother’s loss.

Any donation is very much appreciated. I thank you all in advance. Her final wishes were to be cremated immediately and to make sure her son is cared for. Like all mothers, Niza dedicated her whole heart, body and soul to her FAMILY. She made many friends like our family as well and was always willing to help anyone in need, in any way she could.

I love you, Mom. We are going to do our best.
