Memorial Fund & Scholarship

This is a photo of James and Ace. Ace is the dog. James loved Ace as much as he loved to make music and his friends. James loved the game of football when he suited up as a running back up at Olathe North, Omaho UNO, and Northwest Missouri State. He was a "beast" on the field, but off the field, he was a handsome, gifted, loving, funny son, grandson, uncle, brother, nephew and cousin and friend.
Sometimes, the world is not as it seems. Sometimes we struggle with life and love and joy. Sometimes, the world thinks we are smiling, when in fact, our hearts are breaking. On January 19, 2015, James' brilliant, beautiful life came to an end. His last words to his friends and family:
"Now I lay me down to sleep, I pray to the Lord my soul to keep; If I should die before I wake, I pray to the Lord my soul to take."
Your donations will help us pay for the funeral expenses, as well as a memoral scholarship fund in James' name.
Rest in Peace our beloved James Melvin Franklin, III.
