Oso’s Chemo Treatment
Donation protected
Hi everyone,
Our Oso has recently been diagnosed with Lymphoma, a type of cancer that affects the lymph nodes. Anyone who has met Oso knows he’s a joyful, loving, and energetic soul. Even though Oso has been diagnosed, he has responded well to Prednisone treatment and has begun acting like himself again!
Prior to our visit to the vet, Oso had struggles eating, barking, and struggled to get in bed. While the prednisone has helped, it’s not a permanent solution to Lymphoma.
Our vet has recommended the LOPP chemotherapy protocol, which would give Oso the best chance at more time with us. He was given only a few months left without treatment.
Oso has been with me through my middle school graduation, high school graduation, and I would love for him to be with me through my college graduation.
The treatment would last 4-6 months, with repeated cycles of medication, monitoring, and supportive care. Unfortunately, the cost of treatment quickly adds up to a range of $6,600-$8,500 for the full treatment plan. This would be upwards of $1500/month for 6 months.
It is extremely humbling to be asking for any donations at all, but our family is working hard and doing everything we can to cover the costs of treatment. As a full-time college student with an on-campus job, it’s hard to provide any assistance to my family for this treatment. If you’re able to donate at all or are willing to share our story, that would mean the world to us.
If you’ve made it this far, thank you for your time, generosity, and support. We will provide updates on his treatment and his condition.
Thank you all.
Sincerely,
Antonio Rodriguez
