Believing in Andy's Miracle

So as many of you know my sweet girlfriend who I went to high school with and our girls are besties and we are in Plexus together, Carol Hickerson Ulmer, Her precious husband Andy has been very ill since February of this year when they returned from the Dominican Republic. Actually he was in the hospital over there and then came home. In and out of the hospital for months and months, changing his diet, seeing natural doctors, home remedies, doing anything they could possibly do to get him well, and he is still very very sick. He has lost another 25 pounds since November and on Dec 20th, they went to a great hospital in Atlanta and stayed 3 weeks without their children. Even missed Christmas with their children. He came home a few days ago and is in fact not better at all. He was diagnosed with Gastroparesis. Andy has probably the most severe case they have seen. Basically the stomach is not working. They have tried feeding tubes and nothing is working to keep his nausea away and he is hardly able to be nourished. The Mayo Clinic was able to get him in this week (Jan 21st) and they are headed there tomorrow for a 2 day drive to Minnesota which will be a challenge in itself but he is not able to fly. Just too sick. We do not know the future of his job, only the Good Lord above knows, but the outlook is not good for awhile and he carries their insurance. I just know they will incur a lot of expense and without knowing what the future holds and Carol not able to really work her business being completely consumed with him for months, almost a year in fact, so I wanted to set up this account so if you felt led to give you could...They have a 15, 8 and 6 year old who are adorable and my heart breaks constantly for what they are going through. Please pray for Stacey Hinson Hickerson(her sister in law)as well as she is helping all she can to manage the families. I have never really done things like this but I not only feel led to do it, I want to do more, as much as I can to help. I have never felt so helpless so I know there must be others feeling this burden also.
