Kline Dairy Farm needs help

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Sue and I'm raising emergency funds to help my sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Lynn Kline, owners of a dairy farm in Elverson, Pennsylvania. Dairy Farmers across the country have been struggling, barely breaking even and trying to keep afloat and make ends meet. These farmers are not looking to get rich; rather they just want to farm and be able to support their families as they should be able to. As our economy continues to spiral out of control with inflation at an all time high and fuel prices through the roof, our farmers are on a sinking ship with no relief in sight. To think what would happen when the farms disappear and we would have to turn to imported food sources? Let's hope and pray it does not come to that. Lynn and Nancy's dream are to put the farm into a farmland preserve so it can never be developed or used for anything besides farming but the banks won't let them sign over their property as the property to them is worth more money if it fails to turn over to a developer.

The Klines (Lynn's parents) established their Dairy Farm in 1953 with a herd of just 15 girls (cows). Lynn and Nancy have grown that herd to 450 and they remain optimistic to pass this legacy down to their son, a third generation farmer. My nephew, 16, is such a hard worker and has been helping to run the farm since he could walk. That optimism however is beginning to be extinguished. They have suffered several setbacks including Lynn's health. Over 10 years ago, Lynn suffered several heart attacks and was diagnosed with a rare blood disease. Living with this disease has taken a toll with trips in and out of the hospital and declining physical mobility. But, he continues to farm, and he'd rather be in his tractor then anywhere else even if it takes help to get him into the tractor. Nancy works endless hours and picks up any slack, as well as Kyle jumps in when he's not at school or playing for the school football team. This year has been more challenging than most with their silo catching on fire and Lynn injuring his leg with farm equipment that required 100 stitches to close his leg and broke multiple ribs. Farming is not for the faint at heart, that's for sure!

They would never ask for help themselves but yet would give the shirt off their backs to help anyone in need. Consider making your year-end donation to help a farming family in need. And I realize, we're all digging deeper than before so any little bit will be a blessing and so deeply appreciated. Thank you for taking time to read this story and feel free to share with others. Merry Christmas!
