Rick's Medical Fund

On November 23rd, Rick Klingelhofer was involed in a multiple car accident on I-20 in Arlington, in which he was thrown from his motorcycle and then run over by passing cars. Rick is very lucky to have survived such a terrible accident; however, he has suffered injuries that will have implications for the rest of his life. The majority of the trauma was delivered to Rick's lower body, and as a result, both of his legs had to be amputated. In addition to losing both legs, Rick also sustained multiple injuries to his upper body, including a seperated clavicle, lacerated kidney, transverse vertebrae fractures, a fractured pelvis, and numerous fractured ribs on both sides of his body.

Rick still has very much to be thankful for, he suffered minimal trauma to his head and vital organs, and he has maintained 100% of his motor functions! To date, Rick has had two major operations on his legs in order to put him in the best position to one day soon use prothstetics; and his orthopedic team is optimistic his other injuries will heal on their own with time and a little TLC!

My name is Jeanne Alexander and I am a close friend of Rick and Debbie Klingelhofer. For those of you who do not know me, I have known Rick for over 35 years and in that time, I have come to know Rick as a brother! There was a time not too long ago Rick and I found ourselves in a very similar position, the difference was, he was the one looking after me, and doing everything he could to help get me healthy and bring some normalcy back into my life after I was involved in a head-on collision.  Now it is my turn to help Rick, Debbie, and their family through this difficult time! I have created this account to help aide them with any medical expenses, future physical therapy, home remodeling, vehicle conversions, loss of income, and any other expenses that will be a result of Rick's injuries.

Rick has been a die-hard Harley rider since the day I met him.  Riding has always been a passion of his and he always looked forward to the annual Texas Toy Run.  This year he will be with his riders in spirit.   It is truly through the grace of God that he is here today, and I am so grateful.  There is no doubt He has a plan for Rick.   No time tables have been set, but the road to recovery has already begun. Rick and Debbie will continue to need support in the coming days, weeks, months, and even years. They want me to express to each of you their grattitude through this difficult time, and they are very appreciative of any help that you may offer!

Thank you,
Jeanne
