My car got hit in the parking lot while I was grocery shopping, and I didn't receive any contact information nor any notice from the other driver whatsoever. Since I pay the lowest rate for car insurance, I have a higher deductible of $1000 to repair my front bumper and headlight, which I need help covering. I'm unemployed, so every dollar counts!
I'm Jayden (also known as Kludge), and I am an Asian American (Filipino) artist who is unemployed and currently only paying my bills from what I have left in my savings account—which would not cover the deductible even if I emptied out my account right now.
Getting a real job has never resulted in success for me, even though I've seriously tried. I'm stuck in a mostly conservative city, and I've suspected that my inability to be hired is due to my gender-nonconformity, short stature, and/or race. Not even regular fast food areas will hire me, and I've only been able to do freelance artwork and working under the table for a friend to get by in the past. It now seems nearly impossible for employers to look my way with the ongoing pandemic, and getting hit with a $1000 bill to pay and a dented car is more stress on my back.
Any amount helps. I understand if you are unable to donate, but I'd appreciate it immensely if you could at least share my fundraiser around. Trying to make light of the situation, I made a sorta silly video in regards to raising funds, which you can retweet on Twitter.
