Help Kate get back on her feet!

Please help us raise money for Kate, our best friend, sister, and life partner, who needs our support to pay for surgery on her broken ankle and get back to pursuing her dreams!

 

We're so proud of Kate. She has been working hard her entire adult life: getting a degree, holding down too many jobs as a restaurant server and dance educator, and healing from trauma and hardships. This last part recently put Kate on a new path to channel her unmatched empathy and deep compassion into becoming a counselor.

 

That’s not easy to do when going to school costs money and, at the same time, jobs that allow Kate enough time and energy to dedicate to her studies don’t pay enough, much less provide benefits like health insurance. It’s a tough balance to strike, with no room for mishaps.

 

And that’s exactly what just happened: a roll of the ankle while walking shattered Kate’s tibia, tore multiple ligaments, and broke her fibula such that she needs surgery right away. Medical bills and an inability to work mean a significant setback in Kate’s pursuit of her goals and ability to live as comfortably as everyone deserves.

 

This is where you come in! Kate needs to cover her surgery and follow-up care, make up for lost income, and pay to take classes in the coming term. So we are trying to raise $9,000 to cover these costs and enable her to focus on healing.
