Michael Anthony Delfino needs our help!

Sometimes in life, we are brought into someone's misfortune with the purpose of asking for help during a person's moment of truth. I am seeking your love and support for Michael.   There are many words to describe Michael - loving, kind, giving,  true friend, generous.  Those of us who are a part of his world also know that Michael would never ask for help, and so after obtaining his permission, have created this GoFundMe in an effort to seek support from those who love him.  In his own words, this has transpired in his life:

 

"There was an electrical fire in my apartment from a faulty power strip that started while I was in Brooklyn helping a friend set her place up as an air BnB. I came home to the aftermath and the building contacted me to tell me the situation and just how bad it was. They had to completely gut out my entire apartment, so I'm temporarily homeless, while they rebuild my apartment from scratch. They started demolition and then start the renovations -- new floors, walls, appliances, etc. for the next few weeks.

I'm staying at a friend's so I'm not on the street!

 

Thankfully no one was hurt nor any pets injured from the fire. A lot of the damage was from all the water from the sprinklers as well as black soot that covered everything. Everything is pretty much destroyed by smoke, water, or fire. My place is deemed uninhabitable & unsafe for me to even go in without supervision. I was able to rescue clothes only to find out after washing several pieces that the smell doesn't really ever come out. Not having fire insurance has left the entire financial burden on my own hands although the City offered me to stay in a shelter to live.

 

While this devastating situation is working its way out, there is really nothing I can do about the 58 years of collecting personal belongings, furniture, and keepsakes that will never be replaced.

 

Just knowing no one was hurt is great news since things and possessions can always be replaced. Furniture, the bed, and my salon with all my tools, from sewing machine to glue gun, are gone. I have to start over again from scratch. This is not a happy time for me but one that I know I will grow stronger from.

Always trusting in the universe and the power from above makes this situation monumental in my journey and how I deal with it as part of my personal growth and become better, not bitter.

 

So far friends have been super supportive & reached out to help the best they can even if it's just moral support on the phone to check in with me and make sure I'm doing ok which I'm happy to say I'm doing pretty good all things considered."
