Parachute jump!

Hi everyone, my name is Julie Booker and in June 2024 I am doing a tandem parachute jump to raise money for the British Heart Foundation.

My brother Paul was born on 7 May 1966.

At 18 months he underwent Open Heart Surgery in The Birmingham Children’s Hospital.

He was the youngest baby in Britain to survive the mitral heart Valve replacement.

At 7 years old Paul had to have a second replacement valve and he again came through the surgery.

Paul has been fit and healthy all through his adult life, he ran a half marathon and kept himself fit.

Recently Paul has had to undergo open heart surgery for the third time, unfortunately this time the valve failed and he can’t have another operation.

I wanted to thank the surgeons for giving us our brother who is now 57 years old.

Paul is being cared for by his wife Candy and his son Billy and daughter Elsa at home who keep him going.

unfortunately we don’t know how much longer we have our fabulous brother whom we are immensely proud of and love very much. We feel blessed to have him as our brother. He is our bionic man and a true fighter.
