Knee surgery for Elsie kitten
Donation protected
Elsie was born with a congenital condition called medial patellar luxation in both knees. We found out today it has advanced to grade 3. While it is not life threatening, it effects her quality of life a great deal and will cause health issues as she gets older.
She turned a year old on August 15th, 2020, and her gotcha day (the day we adopted her) is October 20, 2019.
For the best results with the least possibility for complications, two separate surgeries are required: first one knee and then the other 6 weeks later. The estimated recovery time is 3 months. The cost for each surgery is $3500 which includes hospital stay, anesthesia, and the surgery fees. Each surgery date requires a $1750 deposit.
The surgery to help this condition is expensive beyond our means, but she has all her life ahead of her, and we want to make it the best. She misses being able to chase laser pointers, climb her cat tree, and the 2am zoomies. We want to give it back to her.
Thank you for stopping by her page.
