Hi,
Virginia, our mom, and grandmother, sister, aunt and friend has been battling Stage 4 Breast Cancer for the past 22 months.
Here is her story: Mom found out she had a 5.1 cm mass in her right breast April 2013. On June 3, 2013 mom underwent right mastectomy and axillary lymph nodes dissection. After recovering from her surgery a PET/CT scan was done which revealed more cancer in her lungs and chest cavity and lower spine. You know at first when you here news like this you always think why me, but mom's perspective has been and still is "I will get through this, this cancer will not beat me."
Our mother Virginia has gone through radiation treatment, three different hormone treatments, three chemo treatments to try and control this beast. Over this past Christmas holiday season, after completing 12 weeks of chemo we found out that the cancer has spread and now has taken over 70% of her liver.
Through her fatigue, loss of appetite and doctor's appointments four times a week (mom has had MRI, Ultrasounds, and blood drawn) moms spirit is still high. She sits in the waiting room and still give encouraging uplifting words to other patients. We're not giving up nor is she. Mom still keeps that smile on her face and everyday ask if we are ok. She says GOD has the final, ultimate word.
Think about it, we're going through our every day life thinking this is so bad we can't live with this or can't live with that, but mom is living and defying even what a Breast Cancer patient should look and feel like. She is putting up a good fight with smiles and vigor.
We will keep posting and updating her progress, yes I say progress, because we know who sits high and looks low and has us, especially mom, in the Palm of His hands.
So, keep us in your daily prayers
