Kobe’s Life Saving Procedure

Last Monday our precious Kobe was found after my shift at the hospital on the floor unable to walk with his front legs. I rushed him to the Vet ER, they put him on steroids, muscle relaxers and pain medication. None of which have helped him. Today, we made the choice to get an expert opinion in Clearwater, FL. We wanted to have a clear mind before we put him down. At the appointment, the Neurologist explained that Kobe has a cervical disc in his neck that is causing him to collapse and be in pain. He gave us the option to do a surgery that could save his life and to give him the best quality of life for years to come with the best rehab and recovery. For the MRI alone it is $4500-6k, with surgery, we are looking at $8600- 10k. If anyone knows or has met Kobe, Kobe is one of a kind. He’s the best boy. He's always the favorite in the room and steals everyone’s hearts. It breaks ours hearts to think about putting down him because we can’t afford a surgery.
