Kody Frith's Road to Recovery

Hello Everyone,

We are fundraising for Kody Frith. On Friday Jan. 28th we got the call that Kody had collapsed at Kwik Trip. He was not breathing and he did not have a heart beat. His best friend Rob and one of the Kwik Trip employees jumped into action right away starting CPR. Medical assistance was near and immediate. They pulled out the AED and shock advised twice. The team got his heart beating again and they rushed him to Mercy.

 

Mercy ran a bunch of tests and got his vitals stable. Kody stayed in the Hospital for 6 Days. First two days he on a ventilator in the ICU. After many tests they diagnosed Kody with ARVD.

 

ARVD is a rare form of cardiomyopathy in which the heart muscle of the right ventricle (RV) is replaced by fat and/or fibrous tissue. The right ventricle is dilated and contracts poorly. As a result, the ability of the heart to pump blood is usually weakened.

 

Wednesday Feb. 2nd Kody was put under for surgery. The doctors implanted a defibrillator for his heart.

The surgery went well. Kody was released Feb. 3rd. He is out of work for a month and cannot lift more than 10 pounds.

 

We are asking for everyone to give a helping hand to Kody through this tough time if you are able to. Money raised will go towards his Medical bills and help support him on his road to recovery to get back into a normal life and routine.
