KOFI- Honoring the Legacy of Christopher McClean
Donation protected
Peace,
We are raising funds for the family of a young man who was tragically lost to gun violence on Oct 12. Chris McClean, known to many as Kofi, was a remarkable athlete with impeccable character loved by all and inspired many with his tenacious work ethic. Chris also came from a loving family that has shown up in many ways for several communities of people. This fundraiser is a way for the community to know show up for the McClean Family and let them know that we support them and their efforts to honor their son.
In particular Kofi's father, Rico McClean has been a major pillar in the Hip Hop community of Middle TN for decades. He has two sons & two daughters, JaKori Boykin, Christopher McClean, Siaani McClean, and Br'Yanna McClean. Rico, known to many as 187 Blitz has been at the helm of numerous community initiatives such as New Block Order, The Cantina, Sound Therapy at the Sports Page, the TV series Tha Undaground, the podcast Bullets Bread & Bars and most recently the Citywide Cypher. For over 2 decades Blitz has selflessly shown up on Hip Hop scene building community and cultivating aspiring artists. Anyone that knows him from these spaces knows how important his children are in his life, and thus would understand how this time is especially hard for him.
The major focus of this campaign is to provide Rico resources to properly care for Chris' transition. Any excess funds raised by this campaign will be used to immortalize the legacy of his son in a community initiative known as K.O.F.I.. K.O.F.I., (Keeping Our Families Intact), to provide support for families in need that have suffered from gun violence.
The expenses this campaign will assist with include:
- Casket
- Burial Site
- Embalming
- Headstone
- Security Escort
- Re-Pass
- Final Expenses & Any Remaining Debt
