Kogei-Kyoto Exhibition
Tax deductible
As part of the Boston-Kyoto 60th Anniversary as sister-cities, nearly 25 artists from the Kogei-Kyoto Arts and Crafts collective in Kyoto will be exhibiting their exquisite handmade art pieces at the Society of Arts + Crafts' Seaport Gallery from Sept. 10 to Nov 10, 2019. Acclaimed as Japan's finest craft artists, Kogei-Kyoto's works span from ceramic, dyeing, Urushi (lacquer), metal, wood, glass to Japanese style doll art. This is the first time this collective of artists are exhibiting their work in the U.S. as a group.
Exhibition is free and the Kogei-Kyoto group is covering all costs associated with shipping this exhibition to the United States.
As part of this exhibition, we would like to organize lectures and workshops with some of the artists but we need your help in funding their travel costs to the US. This artist group is already spending an enormous amount on shipping their work and currently are only able to send one or two artists to the US.
Please help us raise the fund to bring a few more artists to Boston which will enable us to organize lectures and workshops where you will be able to meet more artists from Kyoto in person.
