Hello, my name is Amotz. I am a transman and Rabbinical Student. I have two wonderful children (5 and 3) with another child due in April 2023 (who I am carrying).

My husband was arrested on Thursday, September 15th, and has been in prison since then without the ability to post bail. This incident has shocked me and all those close to our family. I don’t know the story of what happened… I fear he will be in jail for quite some time.

In the meantime, my children’s lives and my own have been flipped upside down. We now have to find housing, I have to acquire a job and health insurance, rehome our pets, and grieve the loss of a family member who may not be returning home.

I would love to have stability; I hope that I can remain in Rabbinical School, that my kids can remain in the schools where they are known and loved (and with their friends). I want as much consistency and stability as I can provide for my kids in this nightmare.

*Update as of Sept. 22, 2022 at 3:30 pm. I have been informed that someone has paid David's bail. I DO NOT know who it was. These funds are strictly for the kids and me. I have not withdrawn any of these funds yet. Thank you, from the bottom of my being for all the love and support my family has received. I am blown away by the generosity and kindness. ** UPDATE Oct. 14th, 2022. Thank you all SO MUCH. I am shocked and overwhelmed by all the support I have received. I am reiterating that these funds are not being used by or for David. If all goes well, my kids and I will have somewhere new to live by the end of November. These funds are being used to pay rent, utilities, groceries, gas for my car, and all the other necessary expenses of living... and for prenatal care and healthcare should it be needed before we acquire insurance. It's been a while so I figured I would give an itemized list of what this fund has paid for between October and now:

Change locks on house- $800 

Washer and Dryer- $2,000 

moving boxes and supplies- $800 

Furniture (living room sofa, chairs, curtain rods, curtains, shower curtain rods, kitchen stuff to start a kosher kitchen (some new dishes and flatware, cooking pans), shelving, wall mounts, air humidifiers (doctors order), guest bed frame (for mother to come help with kids), guest bed mattress, guest bed blankets and pillows, organizational items) - $6000 

Food, household items: TP, cleaning supplies, etc- $4,000 

Car payments/gas/maintenance- $1,000 

Car impounded- $1500 

Last months rent and lease severance fee- $5,500 Utilities $700

 Urgent Care for kids and meds- $345+$125 +$200 

 OB visit, 20 week scan- $350

Channukah gifts- $500 

OB visit, out of pocket- $100
