Kol Kahol New Album Boston Dedication Fund
Donation protected
Kol Kahol is raising money to record their new album in December! After a few EP releases on Bandcamp, things are about to get real! This full-length album will be released on all streaming services. We are going to produce video for a number of the tracks, and we're very excited to share the final product with you all!
We will be recording in Great North Sounds Studio in Maine, followed by another live session in Boston. This is a special recording; in addition to the whole band, we will be adding a number of guest artists, singers, and instrumentalists to record. We hope to build on the success of our touring and community building- this new album will be jam-packed with 12 songs. While we are rerecording new takes of a few of our old tracks, we will be recording 5 new original songs, 2 new recordings of original music, 4 bluegrass inspired arrangements, and 1 brand new fiddle tune. Some are for Kabbalat Shabbat, some for Shabbat Shacharit, some are new settings to texts from our tradition, and some are niggunim that can be set to an array of Jewish texts and prayers! We have an amazing team in place to work on the music, the audio production, video production, and the musicians themselves. Now, we're just working on the funding to put it all together.
While we are currently seeking sponsors to record our other tracks, we are hoping to raise money from our mailing list and the local Boston community. We have had the immense honor of sharing our music with both the Brookline and Kehillath Israel community and the Cambridge Somerville community at the Tremont Street Shul, in particular.
We hope to raise $5,000: this amount will be sponsoring two exceptional tracks: the first is a new setting to Psalm 150. This will be recorded in Boston and even feature some incredible local Jewish musicians in the community. We are very excited about this project! The second track is taken from the Ashrei, and is entitled "Karov Hashem". We have played this song at a few Melaveh Malkahs, and it is significant to us. We find that in a world where it may feel more challenging to live a spiritual life, the power of music and communal song can guide us to a more enriching and nourishing path, and a deeper relationship with G-d.
We suggest the following donations:
$36- Supporter
$72- Micro-Sponsor
$180- Mini-sponsor
$360- Co-Sponsor.
$720- Sponsor.
All levels of sponsorship include name recognition on the album, (possibly) liner notes, website, video credits, etc, and a personalized thank you video to each sponsor.
It would mean so much to us to have your involvement in this project. We hope that with these track dedications, we can show our love and support for the Boston community at large.
