Kolton Sensory Room
Donation protected
Hey babes
It’s been 4 years since you all have helped Brandon and build Kolton’s sensory room, and SO much has changed since then!
Because we were able to diagnose Kolton at an early age, we have caught on to so much. All thanks to everyone who donated to help create a learning environment and safe space for him and his therapists to work.
Kolton was supposed to start 1st grade this year, but his kindergarten year didn't go so great. Kolton is getting about 30 hours a week of ABA therapy to help with coping mechanisms, emotional control, and communication skills. Due to his extensive schedule, I had to quit my job to make sure some was there to get him back and forth to therapy. When we are at home we are focusing on the same things, plus academics
! We often deal with elopement. Kolton will run out of the house without full recognition of consequences. He ran out of the house and into our neighbors house when we first moved in, then a week later climbed into the other neighbors parked boat. “Project Life Saver” is a program it’s listed by our local police department to help track down loved ones who are at risk for elopement. It was free last year but this year they are charging $450/year plus $10/month for battery changes. (A police officer comes to the house once a month to change the bracelet battery)
What we will use the funds for:
Swing Set for the backyard
Project Life Saver
Tumbling/Gym pads
Locks and gates
Sensory swing for indoor
Sensory Chair
Lights
STEM supplies
