Konawaena Class of '97 Gives Back!
Tax deductible
The Konawaena High School Class of 1997 will be celebrating our 20 year reunion in April 2017, and we are proud to announce that our celebration will be a charitable one through games at the reunion, as well as this campaign!
We have started this campaign as a way for our classmates who cannot make it to the celebration next year, to be part of the cause and the reunion. But if you are going to the reunion and would like to donate anyway, it is immensely appreciated!
Our class motto: "You only live once, but if you live right, once is enough." has inspired us to do the right thing, and give back to our community!
We will be donating to The Food Basket, Inc. to help Hawai'i Island end hunger.
The Food Basket, Inc. is a clearinghouse for food and non-food items that retailers, wholesalers, and farmers normally discard (reasons for discarding food include surplus product, discontinued product, near pull date product, ripped labeling, off-grade produce), and for food donated by individuals and community groups through various food drives.
The Food Basket is an island wide, supplemental food network that collects and distributes nutritious, high quality food to low income households, the working poor, the disabled, the ill, senior citizens, and children of Hawai'i County.
Each dollar donated to The Food Basket provides up to five pounds of food for those who need it most in our community. Every donation, NO MATTER THE SIZE, will make an impact.
The Konawaena Class of '97 has always been, and always will be, known for having an immense amount of spirit, pride, and aloha. So it is with utmost pride that we give back to our community and embody the aloha spirit! #GoBeyondGiving
Please forward this information on to anyone you know from our class that may want to be involved. Mahalo!
