Fighting for Konstanty
Konstanty lives in Poland with his mother and his sister, Livia. Konstanty was a happy, smiley, resolute 13 year old boy just a few weeks ago.
Konstanty suddenly developed vomiting and diarrhoea, difficulty with balance, his body posture was bent and he then started walking wide. Blood tests & CT and MRI scan turned Konstanty & his family’s lives upside down, he was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour. Konstanty was airlifted to
Warsaw Children’s Health Centre for diagnosis & treatment. He remains there to date. This brain tumour is called a Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma H3K27 grade 4, or DIPG abbreviated. This tumour
is located on his brain stem, and doesn’t respond well to chemotherapy.
Both Konstanty’s parents, friends, colleagues & family are all working together for him. He is now taking part in the “Application of targeted therapy in children aged 3 to 18 years old with a DIPG based on the results of DIPGen genetic tests” Whilst Konstantys family have absolutely 100% confidence in
the Doctors caring for him, these fabulous Doctors are open to any cooperation from other Consultants/Doctors/Specialist’s whilst he is undergoing 6 weeks of radiotherapy & medication. This
6 week treatment period is giving them the time to brainstorm options outside of Poland and give them chance to work with other specialists all over the world to try and extend his life.
Konstanty & his family know what the forecast is, but this is where I/you/we can help. Konstantys father, Bart, has searched for contacts, people and hospitals around the world who deal with children with DIPG. He has developed a networks of 2 Doctors, 1 Professor, 2 Paramedics and an admin person
who searches, evaluates and filers treatment options around the world. Konstanty’s treatment, medicines, physiotherapy, radiotherapy are all paid for. The search for establishing contact with specialist facilities is ongoing. The aim is to present a preliminary case of Konstanty, to verify the treatments available and to consult with other specialists in this field. Some consultations are free, some cost in the regions of £800 to £2500.
Konstanty’s father, Bart lives & works here in the UK as a Paramedic in the NHS, with his wife Anna. He also has 2 little sisters Hanna & Blanka who live in the UK, who adore their big brother. His family
do not incur any costs apart from travelling to Warsaw, food & accommodation. Any money which I/you/ we can raise is to help a very specific purpose. If it is not needed then any donations will be equally shared between 2 charities which will also help others who are in much need,
MacMillan services and Great North Ambulance Service. Konstanty you are a very brave young man. All our love x
