HELP SUPPORT TONI'S RECOVERY
Donation protected
Hi, I am starting this gofundme for the Koonrad family. Many from around our community have read about the tragic accident in pacific county on HWY 101 in the local papers or by word of mouth. For those who may not have heard, tragedy struck my inlaws' family on the evening of March 22nd. A search began immediately after being alerted that Tracey Koonrad and her children had not made it home hours after they should have arrived. Shortly after the search began, the accident was discovered. This night 3 children lost their mother. Tracey's youngest child was safely at home, however two of her children, Toni age 11, and James, age 9, were trapped in the accident for hours and were airlifted to Harborview medical center with substantial injuries. James suffered a liver laceration causing internal bleeding. Toni suffered skull fractures and with bleeding in her brain and needed to be intabated. We are asking our community and anyone who has the ability for support. James' liver is slowly on the mend and he is making great improvements and will hopefully be able to return home soon. Toni however suffered a traumatic brain injury and her recovery will be quite extensive and long. We are expecting that Toni and James will make a full recovery with a lot of love, prayers, rehabilitation and extra support.
As people we are stronger together and I am asking that we pull our resources, our voices, and our love together and do everything we can to support these beautiful children. Loss, tragedy and grief has already tightened its grasp on our loving family and I believe we can make a huge impact in the healing process by raising funds to support lost wages for being with kiddos in the ICU, funeral/memorial expenses, housing/transportation costs, medical expenses and any other services or care this family may need during this crucial and emotional time.
Housing costs are of great importance during this time as the family lives over 2 hours away from the hospital and someone needs to be near at all times. Hospital recovery timing is up in the air however we know it is going to be lengthy stay in the city while the children recover.
Even if you are not able to donate directly you can make a HUGE IMPACT simply just by sharing and sending prayers.
Our gratitude and appreciation goes out to you all! Please keep sharing for the littles!!!
